BUFFALO, N.Y. (CW-23) - Performing Shakespeare can be a tough challenge for even the most experienced actors, but several brave civic leaders from Western New York will perform some of his famous works for a great cause. The first ever "Shakespearean Idol" contest will crown one champion on Thursday, July 19th at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society. Nine civic leaders will perform famous Shakespearean passages for Judges S aul Elkin of Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Lorna Hill of Ujima Theatre, and Colin Dabkowski of the Buffalo News. Audience members will also be able to choose the "Groundling's Choice" Award.
